What Are The Production And Economic Factors Concerned With Organic Rice?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

For the economic factors, organic rice has a price, which is two to three times greater than the price of conventional rice.  But the difference gets compensated for very easily as the production of organic rice is costly as well.  For farmers who are involved in the production of organic rice, there are a number of challenges for them to meet such as their lack of awareness on the health benefits on organic rice, the dearth of credit availability sources as well as the lack of access to the mainstream market.

As for production factors, there are many to contemplate upon, some of them directly linked to the challenges that the producers of organic rice face – such as the matter of creating awareness about the benefits of organic rice as well as letting the producers gain accessibility to credit and the mainstream market.  Another production challenge is to reduce the cost of production by researching and finding different kinds of alternatives that will be a more economic option in the production of organic rice.  Also maintaining a balance between the demand and supply patterns in the market is another production factor that needs to be taken care of.
