Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

You want to make network between two computers which are using operating system as Windows XP and Windows Me. You can connect two computers directly by using the cross over cable. As straight through cable is used for connecting same devices. Connect the both computers each other by using straight through cable. Give the unique IP addresses to the both computers.

After giving IP addresses you just have to run network wizard on both computers. For running network wizard, click on the start button of your desktop and then go to the control panel via settings. Now click on the network connection button and then click on "Setup a home or small office network". Follow the network wizard and provide the necessary information. Purpose of network wizard is just to make the computers capable for sharing files. You can also enable sharing between two computers without using network wizard.

If you want to make network of more than two computers then you must have switch or hub. In this case, you just have to make straight through cables and one end of the straight through cable will be inserted in computer and other end of the cable will be inserted in hub. You have to select one computer as a server. All other things are same as in the above case.
