    Main Differences Between CD and DVD are
    1.  DVD means Digital Versatile
    Disc
    or Digital Video Disc where CD Means Compact
    Disc
    But The
    media type of both CD and DVD are optical disk.
    2. Another Difference is its Storage capacity. A  single layered DVD(not mini DVD) can store 4.7 GB and Dual Layered DVD can store more then 8 GB. Where a CD can store 700MB of data.
