Cat Will Not Cover Her Litter In The Litterbox, Why?

My cat will not cover her litter. I keep it very clean. She uese her paw up the wall and edges of litter pan.i'm using a natural no scent sandy like litter. In the bathroom, quite. She's adopted from a shelter about 5to 6 years old. At least she's in the box,but won's cover up why? Thank you

She is just an extremely 'hygienic ' kitty, I had a neutered tom who would stand on the edges of the box, instead of stepping in.

Your cat just thinks the litter is a little dirty, sprinkle some clean litter on top every day for her, and try using a "rougher" litter, instead of sand.

Some cats just never cover their "duties". If they don't do it when they are kittens they just never will. One of my cats will cover his, but then he will spend extra time to "cover" it by pawing the wall, floor, waste basket, whatever is handy and close to the box at the time. I'm sure you're not doing anything wrong, its just part of who your kitty is.

My cat does the same thing I've heard that it's just the way it goes. It's something they learn as kittens and if they don't they never will
