How To Make Ecstasy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Making ecstasy (specifically, MDMA, but also other phenethylamines in general) is an involved and somewhat complicated process that requires knowledge of chemistry and lab procedures, lab equipment, and--maybe always but at least most often--precursor chemicals that, quite unfortunately, are highly regulated by the DEA.  The primary ingredient in MDMA is safrole oil (from sassafras trees), and as I'm aware, retailers are required to inform the DEA if a customer purchases over a certain quantity of safrole oil, or they are only allowed to sell small quantities.

If you want a detailed MDMA synthesis, there are probably quite a few sources, but I would recommend Alexander Shulgin's Pihkal.  You could buy the book or read it on Erowid.org.  If you have the means, feel free to donate.  Erowid is a fantastic site that, as I recall, has somewhat recently qualified (finally) as a tax-deductible charitable organization.

Hope this helps, and be safe.
