The major religion in Japan are Buddhism and Shinto, so Christmas is more a commercial event rather than a religious one and the major celebration is on Christmas eve and not Christmas day itself but the people of Japan love celebrations. December 25th is not an official holiday in the country. Parents give presents to their children but the children do not give presents to parents. They also have Christmas trees and lighting outside their houses. Shops sell Christmas cakes. Going to and ordering at places like Kentucky Fried Chicken, the Christmas Chicken Dinner is very common.
