    Spike Milligan's real name was Terence Alan Milligan. Milligan is best known for his role in the British radio comedy 'The Goon Show' for which he was the main performer as well as scriptwriter. He voiced a number of characters for the show. The show enjoyed instant success and Milligan came to be known as the father of new British comedy.

    The radio comedy circled around satire and alternative humor and enjoyed tremendous success in Britain as well as America.  Spike Milligan was also a musician and played the trumpet, the piano as well as the saxophone. He is also well known for his work in environmental issues. Milligan suffered from bi-polar disorder which significantly altered his productivity and performances during his last few years.
