What Is The Difference Between The Law Of Advertising And The Law Of Publicity?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The law of publicity holds prime importance in the course of the branding process whilst the brand is in its most fundamental stages.  In accordance with the opinion of experts, the birth of a brand is heavily reliant on publicity.  The healthier and greater the publicity is, the more powerful and stronger the birth of the brand is going to be.  As they say first impression is the last impression, the first impression of a brand is achieved by publicity and not by any other mode of communication such as advertising.

As for the law of advertising, this law implements itself after the birth of the birth when the brand is in the growth stage of the product life cycle.  Once the brand is born, advertising is a chief ingredient in the prospect of sustaining the health of the brand.  Publicity is a potent tool to espouse the brand but in the long run the energy of it runs out.  At that time, a brand needs a promotional tool that holds mass appeal and in that case, nothing could be more effective than advertising.
