What Are Some Pros And Cons To Getting An Online Education?

The most positive aspect of taking courses online is the ability to work around almost any scheduling conflicts that would pose problems with on-site education. Although it does require a greater amount of discipline, it is well worth the additional effort.

Unfortunately, there is no face-to-face connections made leaving room for the possibility of becoming kind of a hermit, depending on how many courses a student is taking online rather than in the classroom.

Another benefit that may become a hindrance in the long run is the fact that there is no public speaking involved. Presenting information to a group of my peers has always been a huge problem for me and I have found that I am able to participate much more without any feelings of judgement and such that come with the fear of speaking in public.

Other than the reasons mentioned, I really can't think of any other positives or negatives off the top of my head. Up to this point, I have taken 23 online courses. So far, I have not found there to be any real issues with taking courses online as opposed to on campus.
