Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The decade ranging from the year 1996 to 2006 witnessed a growth rate of 30 percent in the livestock development sector of Pakistan.  It was a remarkable improvement from the erstwhile decade stretching from 1986 to 1996 that was marked by a growth rate of 21 percent.  This information was provided by the Pakistan Livestock Census 2006 results.  However the authenticity of these reports have a tinge of ambiguity to them as far as the standpoint of international experts are concerned.

The Agricultural Census Organization was the one responsible for conducting this census that lasted for a period of 16 long months.  It was a meticulous research that focused on each aspect of the livestock sector and covered about 12 percent of the Pakistan areas as their sample, containing overall 1.03 million questionnaires.  As according to the results of the census, the cattle registered a growth of 45 percent, inclusive of buffalo production that showed a growth rate of 19 percent  and sheep production grew by 13 percent.
