    Both pneumonia and bronchitis are different conditions. Bronchitis is the inflammation of the air passage. It can be acute or chronic. Acute bronchitis can be due to flu virus while chronic bronchitis can be one of the types of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

    Pneumonia is the infection and inflammation of the lungs which can be due to virus, bacteria and fungus. This condition can affect one or both lungs. If both lungs are affected then condition is called double pneumonia.
