Can Pink Eye Cause A Sore Throat?

The human anatomy is unique and has always been susceptible to diseases and ailments that have equally foxed the medical fraternity. The complexity which is associated with the different parts of the body has created a sphere of study that is specialized and dedicated to each. Among all the parts of the body, it is observed and noted that some parts work within an 'interlink' and subsequently, when something goes wrong with any one of the 'parts' of the 'interlink', the system collapses and becomes vulnerable to disease.   
Conjunctivitis is commonly referred to as pinkeye and it is an inflammation of the conjunctiva. The conjunctiva is the clear membrane that covers the white part of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids. A child can develop pinkeye by touching an infected person or something that the infected person has touched, such as a towel. In summer, pinkeye can spread even when children swim in contaminated water or share contaminated hand towels or clothing. The condition can also be spread via coughing and sneezing. Doctors usually recommend that children diagnosed with contagious conjunctivitis should be refrained from attending school or summer camps. The condition cannot cause sore throat but it can influence the development of sneezing and coughing bouts in those exposed to the infected one.
