What Is The Film Harry, He's Here To Help About?

The French film Harry, He's Here to Help or  Harry, un ami qui vous veut du bien, Is the story of Claire and Michel, a married couple who are going to meet Michel's parents on the way to their holiday home.  They are with their children and things get very tense when they make a stop.  When they stop, Michel meets Harry an old school friend.  He invites himself and his girlfriend Plum to join them.  That night Plum and Harry stay with them and  Harry repeats word for word a poem that Michel wrote when he was a teenager. When their car breaks down, Harry, who is apparently hopelessly rich after the death of his father buys them a red 4x4 truck.

As the action of the film unfolds, Harry's antics become more and more bizarre, first murdering Michel's parents and then his own girlfriend Plum all for Michel.  Next he wants Michel to help him kill Claire and the children, finally mild Michel snaps and stabs Harry to death.

A well acted strange film in the Talented Mr Ripley type mould.
