A Cube Has A Volume Of 64 Cubic Inches. What Is Its Surface Area?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The volume of a cube is (l)ength x (w)idth x (h)eight where all 3 are the same length.  Call that length X, then X3 = 64. The cube root of 64 is 4 (4*4*4 = 64), so each side is 4 inches.  A cube has 6 equal faces, so its surface area is 6 * area of 1 face.  Since each side is 4 inches, the area of one face is 4*4=16 in2. So, 6 * 16 in2 = 96 in2.
