How Long Do You Have To Use A Crate To Train Your Dog To Stop Wetting In Your Home?

Answer Question

Anytime when you are going to be away from the home......but do walk the dog when you are at home, dogs seem to get nervous or excited when their masters leave home or when they are alone, perhaps the dog needs a few more lessons......the best to you

How long depends on many things. The biggest factor is going to be consistency in the training and remembering that most pups can't actually 'hold' it very well or very long until around the four month mark and sometimes five.  Larger breed pups can usually hold it a bit longer than smaller breed pups but it really all depends on how consistent and persisitent the family is being. Spaying and neutering when you are able is usually a factor as well aside from them being healthier and living longer. Is your breeder willing to help you at all? Most responsible ones do (and know how aside from many things about the breed itself). Or was the pup from a rescue/shelter? What kind of pup do you have?
