Is There A Connection Between These Diseases?

My sister got real sick 2 months ago and now her blood work shows that she is severely anemic, has herpes 6, and Epstein Barr. Is there a connection between these?i forgot to mention that she has the west Nile virus as well.

Did they diagnose your sister when she was sick 2 months ago, or did she just get better?  I had something similar, when I was in college.  I was very ill, and thought it was the flu, and was later told my epstein-barr titer(measurement in blood), was off the charts.  I didn't have the anemia, and they didn't say anything about herpes 6.  It could have something to do with her prior illness.  I hope they can find out what's going on, and that your sister feels better, soon.

Wow, with the West Nile thrown in, it could very well be connected. When she was sick, did she have a rash, or painful joints?

Epstein barr is the virus that causes infectious Mononucleosis if she has IM she will be anemic. As for herpes 6, I don't recall herpes 6 from my immunology class...I need to review that chapter... But I do know that most people with herpes will be anemic.
