Why Is There Death Penalty?

Why is there death penalty?

It's the most harsh form of punishment the justice system could think of but i also think its because the crime rate has increased and there's not enough room in prisons to hold everyone.  the u.s. Has the most prisons in the world.  personally i don't see how killing someone whether they deserve it or not make you any better than the original killer.  a girl in my class constantly says "an eye for an eye makes the world blind" and i have to agree with that.  when someone is executed for murder when the deed is done the executioner is guilty of the same crime.

If the crime rate has increased what purpose is the death penalty serving,I agree the person implimenting the death penalty is as guilty as the person that committed the crime,Killing is Killing regardless of who pulls the trigger or the switch agreed.

There is a death penalty because some people do such awful things like killing others they don't deserve to live. Like if some person became a serial killer and killed several, I don't think they should be able to live. I think they should endure what they have done!

There will always be people who try to abuse the system and hurt and violate others, without something to fear as punishment these people just don't see a disadvantage.

For someone to stop doing something beneficial (because atm in countries like the UK) crime pays,  its a sad state of affairs but true
