A snowy owl started out as an owl. It lived up in high mountains and got adapted. It got so used to the cold weather, it's body created extra feathers and adapted. Because of this adaption, if it tried to live in the rainforest where it is humid, It could die of too much heat. So they have to live in chilly places.
