The London Eye, otherwise known as the Millennium wheel, is a towering 135m big wheel over London. It is the largest structure of its kind on the globe and is one of the top five main attractions in England’s capital. It has fundamentally altered the skyline of central London. It consists of 32 large capsules and takes around 30 minutes to get all the way round. Weather permitting, you can see for 25 miles in every direction. On a good day, over to the west, you can see Windsor whilst over to the other side, you can look out to see.
The attraction is a popular one especially during the summer, and with popularity, comes long queues, both when buying tickets and when waiting to board. The wait can be significantly reduced if you book and pay for tickets in advance on the internet. You can then just turn up, put your credit card in a machine and obtain your prepaid tickets. Expect to get searched (frisked) before boarding. Arguably the best time to go on is at dusk, when the city moves from light into darkness. It’s £12.50 for adults, £6.50 for kids and £10 for senior citizens.
