The nuclear energy is used to generate electricity and the electricity is transported via high voltage towers to points where it can be stepped down to a usable voltage and distributed to users.

A hot reactor by itself isn't very useful. The heat must be transported by some medium that can do useful work.

Quite often, the medium is steam. It may do the work directly by turning a turbine (as in a nuclear powered ship), or it may do the work indirectly by turning a turbine connected to a generator that produces electricity that does useful work.

It needs to be transmitted. This is done on the electrical grid and the power is sent to the area that demands or has purchased the power. It is not transported like gasoline or fuel oil. It is more like a telephone call, when the power is requested, you turn on the switch, the electricity is release and sent to you home to the switch you just flipped, in simple terms.

The power itself doesn't need to be transported.  It's the waste products that have to be transported to a place it can be disposed of safely, usually buried.
