Management is defined as the skill or practice of controlling or directing a group of people so that they can work together harmoniously and in a coordinated manner so that they can accomplish a goal which is outside the scope of an individual. The act of getting tasks completed efficiently and in an effective manner by a group of people. It includes manipulating human resources, financial, technical and natural resources.

Modelling is the usage of data, equations and computations to create a model which depicts an object or a process. Simulations and models are a way to abstract reality. Modelling simulation is the application of models to arrive at a particular result. Simulations can be live, virtual or constructive.

Calibration is the process of establishing the performance parameters of a system or an instrument by comparing it to the standards set for it. There are two important concepts related to calibration. The first is precision which is the minimum discernible change in the parameter being considered. The second is accuracy which is the actual error found in calibration.

Forecasting is the art of predicting what is going to happen in any particular field like weather, business or any other operation. For businesses it is important to have an idea about how the future is going to behave as on this depends the present planning. Econometric models based on interaction of various economic variables are used in businesses.
