A caddie is the person who carries the player's kit bag which contains his clubs, balls and tees in a game of golf. A person can become a caddie at the tournaments that are organised by the Professional Golf Association (which is abbreviated as the PGA) mainly by making friends with the golfers and developing a good rapport with them.

It is extremely important that a golfer and his caddie share a good personal equation, both on and off the golf course. If they are close personally, they will have a longer and more fruitful professional relationship as well.

Another advantage of being a close friend of a golfer is that the caddie gets to travel with his friend and gets access to a place where entry would normally have been restricted to players only.
