Is Bad Breath Contagious?
I know, it sounds retarded, but look: My friend used to talk to this guy, obviously they kissed and whatever. This guy had rancid breath, it used to be horrible. OK so they stopped talking. Now a few months later, all of a sudden, her breath has started to smell like his! What is that? Is there something he had that was contagious? I don't even know what to tell her, I don't want to hurt her feelings...

From a purely medical perspective, bad breath usually has a lot to do with the state of our teeth. Poor dental hygiene is the most common cause of bad breath and, of course, it is not possible to catch this from anyone. In very isolated cases, however, bad breath may actually be contagious. Studies have shown that certain sinus and throat infections can cause bad breath and the germs that are behind these ailments can be passed on from one person to another.
