What Were The Conditions Of Women Before Islam?

Women have a very respectful place in every society today. She has the honor of becoming a good wife, daughter and most of all, as a mother. But this is because of the advent of Islam. What were the conditions of women before Islam? Women were no more than toys or animals in the eyes of every person before the advent of Islam. They were bought and sold at cheap prices. They were thought to be disgrace to the family and the whole caste in which they were born.

They were further sold in cheaper prices. Thus we can conclude that they had rights no more than a toy or a non-living thing. Islam condemned all of these policies and custom. Holy prophet P.B.U.H, who was sent as the Last Messenger of Allah to whole of the universe, had sons that died in infancy and had many daughters. He loved and cared for them just as they had cared for their son or any boy. He was pretty much upset because the people teased him o not having any son. He was almost broken on not being the part of this community but Surah-Al Kausar was revealed in order to console him.
