You could try a hydrocortizone cream. It's designed to help with itch and rash. It's also odourless if you get, "Cortizone 10". Hope this helps.

I agree with tiggersmom you can also give benadryl to help with the itching.

TIt might depend on why his is itchy and what he is allergic to. Alot of dogs are actualy allegic to the meat in their dog food. Surprizingly enough. You could try switching the food if they don't already eat it to a lamb and rice food or chicken and oatmel. These foods sometimes are a few dollars more but if it cures the problem then it is well worthit. I fed my doberman Healthwise dog food, recommended by my trainer, after I found out she was allergic to her other food.

Her is a link to there site if you would like to check them out. www.naturapet.com It will often times help with their gas to if that have that problems well and if you feed a higher quality food the will be eating less of it and there for having less BM's Also if you have found that the coat is dry and dull and the skin is flack you could feed the dog Salmon oil.

It does wonders for there coat and it is great for their joints as well. It is fairly inexpensivce and you can put it right in there food bowl and the will eat it with the food or if they wont eat it you can pop the capsules and put it directly on the food. Well hope this gave you the help you were looking for.
