What Is The Average IQ?

Answer Question

3 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Any score between 90-109 is considered as an average score. The full form of IQ is Intelligent Quotient. Intelligence testing was first started in France. In the year 1904 Alfred Binet a psychologist was appointed by the French government to come up with a method to distinguish between children who were rationally normal and those who were inferior.

It was decided that children who would come under the rationally normal segment would be put in special schools; here they would receive more personal and individual attention.

This led to the invention of the Binet Scale, which also famously known as Simon-Binet Scale. During the test children had to do tasks like carryout command, copy patterns, name certain given objects and put things in proper order. Binet conducted the test on Paris school children and developed a standard based on the data received. After Binet's work, the word "Intelligence Quotient" or "IQ" made an entry in the Vocabulary.
