It depends on where you intend downloading to. If you want to download videos to a phone, or Ipod then you will need the USB, if the you want to download a video from the net to your computer, you dont need a USB, and in some cases if the videos are in a computer that has bluetooth then you can send the video to another device using the bluetooth application
