I was sent a letter with a password, and it was misplaced and I need to have another letter sent to me with my password.

The best thing to do is to get in touch with whoever sent you the letter containing the password. Explain to them that you have misplaced the password that they have sent you and hopefully they will send you another one.
In future when you are sent a password via letter, write the password somewhere very safe and do not leave the letter lying around so that people can see your password.
