I believe it is 3-4 million because they counted bodies they thought to be dead and got 6 million. Besides they could not count all the numbers on their arms for it was in code (like just some random letters and numbers). And yes I do think this is very twisted. And to answer the person that's two above me Germany alone killed 12 million people. You forgot to count the Italians and the Japanese for they were part of the Axis Powers and against the Russians.
