How Do You Monitor The Psychology Of People Using Internet?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Internet addiction is the bane of the 21st century. Today's press is full to the brim with stories of men scanning the secret websites and  women abandoning their spouses for online chat-based relationships which leave the door open for infidelity to creep in. There are people who are losing hundreds and thousands of dollars by participating in online gambling.

The only viable way to monitor the effect on psychology on people using the Internet for hours, are through sample-survey. The March 2000 issue of Sexual Addiction and Compulsion: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention state that internet addicts, both men and women love to surf sites that suit the behavioural typecasts of their own gender. Internet psychology is rooted in giving vent to sexuality. Women are more likely to spend time flirting or having fantasy cyber-sex in sexually precise chat rooms because it gives them a freeing private outlet. Men on the contrary are drawn to some sites since they prefer visual provocation.  Confining oneself to the cyber-world for long hours can cause cracks in relationships. You can get a lot of information on people who are net-addicts in virtual-addiction.com and netaddiction.com.
