How Do You Make Almond Butter?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Almond butter is an ideal source of protein and has the highest quantity of Vitamin E. Thus the almond butter is recommended for vegetarians.  In fact two tablespoons for almond butter is as good as one ounce of lean meat. Almond butter is made from raw almonds. They are processed to form almond butter. This butter may lack the consistency of peanut butter but adding canola oil makes the texture of the almond butter smooth. You can add salt for additional flavouring.

Thus the ingredients that are involved in making an almond butter recipe are 2 cups of whole almonds, 1 tsp canola oil and ¼ tsp salt. You have to use roasted whole almonds in a preheated oven at 300 degrees F for about 20 minutes. This will emit the characteristic nutty aroma. Add salt, almonds and canola oil to a food processor. Transfer the contents to a jar and seal it with a tight lid. Store the almond butter in the refrigerator and keep cool.
