How Is Recording My Daily Calorie Intake, Important?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Weight loss is only possible when a person burns more calories then he or she consumes. If you do not keep a record of the amount of calories you are consuming you may end up eating more than you burn. Calorie calculators help you keep within the limit of consumption. If you have had a heavy meal in the morning you can avoid eating something heavy later in the day.

Each person requires around 2100-2400 calories a day in case of men and 1800-2100 calories in the case of women. Without any additional exercise eating more calories than this will result in weight gain. Each pound of fat in the body contains around 3500 calories and the body only resorts to using these when additional calories are not used. Muscles also consume or burn eight times more calories than fat.
