    As tourism is the main foreign exchange earner for the nation of Jamaica, the number of tourist visiting the country is certainly substantial. The total number of tourists visiting Jamaica in the year 2005 is 2,614,506. Out of this figure, 1,386,996 were foreign nationals, 91,667 were non-resident Jamaicans and 1,135,843 were cruise passengers. If we take the figure of the year 2006, the figure stands at 2,244,533 from January to September.
            
    Jamaica is quite well known for its hospitality, and when it gets intermingled with its natural beauty, the amalgamation can take you to a world we usually see only when we are dreaming.
          
    The government is also aware of the potential of tourism and taking care of all the infrastructural requirements to make the nations one of the prime destinations on the map of world tourism.
