I never been to a hypnotherapist because l never has a need for one however l was being trained to be one but dropped out when l found out that l could not practice the profession in my state. There lose, not mime. As for your question; Yes, hypnosis can bring back memories from the past. I read and re read what you wrote. How can l get a false memory from you? You are the one hypnotized. You are the one doing the talking.  All of your memories are stored in your subconscious mind. Your conscious mind acts like a filter. Hypnosis gets past the filter that is how hypnosis can help. For example pick any topic there are some people for what ever it is and some against. Some one is wrong but both sides think and know that they are right. And to reinforce that there filter only allows what we want ot hear as truth even though it might be a lie. When selecting the person do not look at degrees experience is what matters. About six years ago l was talking to the head of one of the FBI teams in a group setting. He told us that only FBI agents are allowed to hypnotize people on there case. I told him that is a bunch of dog dudu because they are sitting in the same class as me taking the course and that l might have far more experience then him and you still say only FBI agants can do the hypnosis?  I was trained by the police during that time.Lots of luck with what ever you want to verfiy.
