Which Airport Will I Use When Travelling To Toronto?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Toronto, Canada's largest city, is served by two airports. The largest is Lester B. Pearson International Airport located in Mississauga, a Toronto suburb, while Toronto City Centre Airport (TCCA) is located on an island near the downtown core.  Pearson is approximately 26km from downtown Toronto, while TCCA is less than 8km from the centre.

All long-haul international flights, most transborder flights and the majority of domestic flights fly to and from Pearson. The City Centre Airport currently has 19 regional flights each day to Ottawa and Montreal. These routes are operated by Porter Airlines, a full-service, regional carrier offering scheduled flights. There are plans to also introduce several regional US destinations in 2007, all of which will be served by Porter and operated out of  the TCCA.

In the past,  Air Canada Jazz, a regional subsidiary of the national air carrier also operated out of  the TCCA, but these flights were discontinued in 2006. It is possible, however, that Jazz will once again begin operating up to 6 daily flights from the Toronto City Centre Airport to regional destinations in Canada later this year.
