Always try to write a proposal that can be understood by specialists in the subject and non -specialists.

You'll need to write a short abstract of around 100-120 words explaining the proposed research.

This should be followed by your project description including project and research questions. Then you'll need to mention theoretical or substantive questions and the area ( geographical) or site/s that you are researching.

This piece needs to be around 2,000 words.
You'll need to include a bibliography with books and journals etc that you have consulted to date.

You will have to convince the readers that your project is worthy of research and outline methodology, evidence, techniques, arguments, problems, evidence and other relevant topics. You should also explain why the research is of value to archaeology and how it will benefit the subject.

Take care in the format and style as this will influence the people reading your proposal and could make a difference as to whether or not it's accepted.
