Does Anyone Know What The Surname Escalion Means?

Yes, that is how it is spelled. My boyfriend's father came to the US from Mexico in the 1930s or 1940s and was taken in by a kind family. So we're not sure about any of the family ancestry in Mexico. It could be German.

I am amazed at this information. According to my knowledge Escallion refers to a culinary herb that is a relative of the scallions or the Spring onions. The name is derived from the greek word Allium ascalonicum and is pronounced with the silent e. There is no infomation available on this word as a surname as far as my sources are concerned.
