When Was The Battle Of The Atlantic Fought?

Which one? There were two battles that were called the battle of the atlantic, the first in the first world war and the second in the second world war.
 
The first was fought between 1914 and 1918, between the British royal navy and the German navy. It occured around the coast of Britain and northern Europe, and out in the Atlantic ocean. It involved both trying to blockade each other, since both Britain and Germany relied on sea imports. It ended with a British victory, when they defeated the German navy and blockaded German ports, which was important in the Germans eventual defeat.
 
The second battle of the atlantic was between 1939 and 1945. It was primarily between the British navy, against the German navy like the first one, although the Americans later joined on the side of the British, and the Italians on the side of the Germans. It was mainly a battle for the Axis trying to cut off sea imports to Britain, and the British trying to stop the Axis from controlling the Atlantic. It ended in 1945 with the Allied victory over the Axis.

The Battle Of The Atlantic is considered as the world's longest military battle. It started in the year 1939 and ended in the year 1945. It consisted of a series of naval military campaigns. At the end of this battle the Nazi Germany was defeated and the Allies were victorious.
