Well, you might feel a bit woozy at first from the anaesthetic and a bit nauseous, but this soon wears off. Unfortunately, you then become aware of the soreness of your face, which is bruised after the operation.
The incisions made to do the surgery are all along the side of the face but tissue is pulled about quite a lot under the skin of the face and this creates quite a lot of damage and bruising. Surprisingly, though, operations on the face cause relatively little pain and you might only need paracetamol for a couple of days.
You will probably have small drainage tube behind each ear to drain excess fluid. This can be uncomfortable but it only stays in place for about 24 hours. Your face will be wrapped in bandages, which come off after one to two days. You will have stitches in the wounds for about 10 days, until they are removed.
