How Can I Dress Like People From The 1980's Years?

Answer Question

In the eighth decade of the twentieth century (that is, in the 1980's), the emphasis was on a combination of tacky and wacky. The hottest trend about two decades ago was the zebra look, that is black and white striped tee-shirts and skirts and clothes which were made from fabrics that clung to the body such as Lycra and spandex.

Ladies preferred to wear large, dangling ear-rings that spelt attitude with a capital A. They matched the colour of their hoops with that of their clothes and their shoes. Madonna (the reigning queen of pop back then and a trendsetter to date) made a fashion statement by wearing jelly bracelets (which were made of either rubber or plastic) and fishnet stockings. More emphasis was put on outlandish floral prints (which were a throwback to the flower power days of the 1970's) and the harsh winters meant that it was time to stock up your closet with leg warmers and colourful chucks.
