What Happened In The 60s Before And After The Vietnam War?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The generation in the 60s was countercultural but who actually hold much of the power in America were the conservatives. Some thinkers said that in the 60s, before and after the Vietnam War, "either someone was protesting something or tripping on acid". The notion of "stop war-love and peace" was over exaggerated. Richard Nixon came up with his campaign in 1968, called the "silent majority". In all, one can say that the 60s was a very chaotic time as some people wanted to hold on to their traditional American values and other did not. People were primarily divided into segments like: the New Deal Democrats; Reagan Democrats to Neo-Conservatives.
