What Was The First Life On Earth Appeared In?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The signs of first life appeared on Earth almost 300,000 million years ago as indicated by the fossil records. However, the first lifeforms were not as complex as the organisms that we have on the planet today but actually the beginnings of life on Earth were far more humble. As Protein molecules developed longer and more complex chains they acquired with time the ability to store information and pass that information on towards the next generation. These processes were very short lived and unstable. However, eventually as they developed semi permeable phospholipid membranes the internal processes now had a better survival chance against the hostile external environment. So these first cells were called the protocells. However, the protocells did not have a nucleus. Parallel to this another organism evolved that we know as the viruses today which do not even have a cell structure and are more like enclosed cases of RNA coding. The first multicellular organisms in essence were algae in plants and plant like animals which remained stationary.
