I Just Adopted A Female Cat Who Was Still Nursing. Her Teats Became Swollen With Heat In Them. Two In Front And The Middle Are Almost Back To Normal. The Two Back Ones Are Still Very Swollen With Heat In Them. She Likes Them Gently Massaged. My Question Is If This Is Normal And How Else Could I Help Her To Be More Comfortable?

Separation of kittens from the mama cat cause swelling in the tits. This swelling is due to pressure produced by the milk. Persistent pressure can cease the milk production.  Because continuous suckling stimulus by the kittens is responsible for milk production and in the absence of this stimulus, milk production can continue for 2-3 days. After this milk production is stopped but tits become swell. This swelling will also be gone after 2-3 more days provided there is no suckling stimulus. Even massage is also not allowed because it will work like suckling stimulus and milk production will not stop and swelling will continue. So, you need not to do any thing and wait for 5-6 days.
