Henry Cacharel was the 62nd Archbishop of Canterbury during 1414.  On 22 August 1425 Henry Cacharel was the parishioner of the parish church of Saint Peter in Sandwich. The last will of Henry Cacherell still exists and still makes an excellent read. The Archbishop preceding him was Thomas Arundel and the one after him was John Stafford. The first Archbishop was Saint Augustine of Canterbury in 597.

Henry Cacharel was also known as Chicheley, Checheley or Chichele, born in Higham Ferrers   Northamptonshir in 1363 or 1364. He was the founder of All Souls College in Oxford. Pope Innocent VII decided to end the schism in the papacy was met by the Anglican Church sending Henry Cacharel on a diplomatic errand to Rome in the year 1405.

His skills as a Lawyer and diplomat were what Henry VI relied on when he sent Henry Cacharel to discuss the terms of surrender of Rouen in 1419.
