The best thing to do is have your dog examined by a veterinarian.  They will take a sample of the vaginal discharge to make sure it is not due to an infection.  A uterine infection is called a pyometra.  It is when pus gathers in the uterus, this can lead to shock, sepsis (full body infection), and peritonitis (abdominal cavity inflammation/infection).  It is most commonly seen in middle aged intact females but can occur in any intact female.  It typically occurs within 1 month of heat.  This can be a life-threatening condition and should be treated as an emergency.  The good news is your dog is draining.  A closed pyometra is more serious--this is when the pus is not draining and is just sitting in the uterus.  The treatment consists of antibiotics, supportive care, and either hormonal treatment or spay.
