What Kind Of Paint Is Best For The Outside Of A Bath Tub?

The bath tub is acrylic based. I have been told to use eggshell paint but I don't know what that is: Is it water or oil based?

I have experience of using oil paint in outside area with bath and it looks good and give brightness to all area covered with oil paint and the life of oil paint is three times more than water paint so you must use this kind of paint.

Eggshell is the sheen of the paint. It is called eggshell because it is a dull gloss such as you would see on an egg.
Sheen runs from a high gloss, semi-gloss, satin, (eggshell) and flat. Satin and eggshell are pretty much the same sheen. Usually depends on which brand you buy as to whether it is called eggshell or satin.
It is only my opinion, but believe that eggshell would be a good choice for an acrylic tub.
I would use a "spray" paint designed especially for acrylic surfaces.
You can check with a local home supply or hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes. They can assist you on your paint choice.
