Trust is a song written by the Heavy/Thrash/Speed Metal band Megadeth. This song was written by 'Dave Mustaine' and 'Marty Freidman'. This song was featured on the album 'Cryptic Writings'. It was their first single to be released from the album. The single trust was released on the 17th of June in the year 1997. It was recorded in the Tracking Room in Nashville. The song had reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
The song Trust is all about failed relationships due to mutual dishonesty. The lyrical content of Trust was simply brilliant, the opening riff, the slow tempo verses and the mid-breaks in the song suggested that Megadeth had moved on from their traditional speed metal roots. In the January of 1998 Trust was nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Heavy Metal Performance. The song was also featured on Megadeth "Best OF" collection namely: Capitol Punishment and Greatest hits: Back to the Start.
