Its density at the rate of 293 k is 8.9 g/cm3. It is silver in colour. Its atomic structure consist of four energy levels: at the first level there are 2 electrons, in the second there are eight, in the third there are fifteen and in the fourth there are two electrons.

    Cobalt was discovered in 1737 by the scientist George Brandt. Its name cobalt is of German origin. It comes from the word Kobalt which means evil spirit. It is extensively used in special glasses, ceramics and magnets.
