I'm 16 Possible Preg. Is It True That If Your Prego But Under 18 That You Are Emidetly Emancipated????
I'm 16 i turn 17 in may and I'm possible prego. My biggest fear of the whole thing is telling my mom. Cuz earlier on she warned me that if it happens that she send me to live with my dad. I don't get along with my dad or anyone in my family really. My bf says hes gonna be there for me. But my question is... Is it true that if your prego but under 18 that you are emidetly emancipated????

Ok, first of all you need to try to not stress so much, if you are pregnant, stress can harm the baby. Secondly, most parents out there tell their children they will be extremely mad at their children if they get pregnant, and they say things they don't really mean. I am sure your mom loves you very much, and no matter how upset she is in the beginning, she loves you and will try to help you. If she knows how scared you are and knows you don't want to live with your dad i really doubt she will put you in that situation.. My guess is the only reason she said that in the first place was to try and scare you out of the idea of having sex until you were truly old enough to handle the responsibility. As far as the emancipated part of the question. I don't know of any state that emancipates a child once they are pregnant. Even though to some people "the state" may seem like some monster that takes children from their home all the time, "the state" really is just doing what is best. In this case, what is best is for you to live at home with your mom. I hope this helped to calm your fears a little. Just trust me, you need to tell your mother because you are going to need the extra support and nobody out there can replace the love of a mother. Thing will get better.

No way!! That is soooo not true. Your mother told you that to scare you. I am a case worker for Children's Protective Services and trust me girl the state does not emancipate children against their will. You have to file forms and all that stuff to even be considered for emancipation. Don't worry. I know you are young but you will find the support you need. Just remember to stay calm for the sake of the baby.
