Is It Me Or Have I Been The Only One Giving Thumbs Lately?
I keep browsing around this morning and perfectly perfect answers everywhere haven't gotten any thumbs but mine..just wondering..

Yeah that's the problem here. People(not senior one) generally don't like even to rate a answer if it is good and OK and if it is against their likings they suddenly remember their is a option to punish the guy. OK tell me what is the fun if you are answering the question to its details and with full care and what happen next the questioner even don't care to comment or rate the proper reply it some times pull downs the spirit. There are only few categories here which most of time flooded with regular and senior blurters and only answered in such categories questions most of time gets ratings. I think blurtit has rightly added new feature of rating i.e. Rate your answered questions that appear right in your profile. Thumbs up for them for this intelligent move. :)

You r right ady, they think this is like answers.yahoo, if they thumbs up,. His/her answers choose as best. LOL
I am not very sure about this point. I think actually this thing doesn't concerns them like giving positive rating to others that's why they ignore it.
A++++++++++ 1000000 thumbs :) awesome job! - applauds -
You are absolutely right! I guess people here reflect the society at large that we live in, taking others for granted. I guess I am not the only one who notices this trend on the Blurtit site, not only this morning but in general.

Yeah its true people don't care about others (not all). They only use others for their own use and when their use is over don't care about them.

I totally agree with your point. It shows ingratitude from the askers and it can be a downer for the answerers. It is not necessarily that people need to be praised for all their answers, but those who seek other people's opinions and help should be considerate and polite enough to at least acknowlege with thumbs up if they are happy with the answer. It is not like it costs them anything. I guess most people here reflect the broader society, taking others for granted. Sad state of affairs!
This may be true of some people, but not all hon.
Thumbs up for your answer. . :o)

Yeah that is a big problem the answers are not being rated, not even by the person that ask the question and if you leave a reminder they get a attitude.....hey bless you if you are rating because no one can rate their own answer as it should be but I don't think they need the answer if they don't rate it, there is no way they are going back to check to see if they have received a answer......the best to you

It seems many are competitive, and don't want to give any credit to others. Also, I think some are just inconsiderate!- but not my friends I hope!

I have been giving thumbs up. I think it is important to recognize a good answer when it is given. We all take the time and make the effort to be helpful and some do it for hours every day. We get paid nothing, so a little recognition is important from other Blurters and guests, I believe. It is super nice for someone to make a good comment on occasion, and I for one, do appreciate a thumbs up or a nice remark. I think we need to encourage everyone to give a thumbs up when it is deserved, not just as a "run of the mill" happening, or to do it simply because it is a "friend". It should be saved for answers that are deserving, otherwise it becomes not as valuable as it should be. To have "one of our own" recognize our effort is something to strive for, don't you agree? A pat on the back from one of our members may inspire us to really make that added effort to be helpful. When we do that, we are much more apt to give well thought out answers not just spur of the moment, off the cuff answers. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront. I hope it will inspire us all to be more conscious of recognizing some of our members efforts. Thumbs up to you!!

Everybody's answers are awesome I'm thumbing all the answers here :D including yours. BUT NOT MINE! LOL
If you answer questios from the guests, they are not allowed to rate answers. I go around to blurters pages and go through their answers to give them ratings. Especially on serious questions because they hardly ever get rated.
You can go onto blurters pages and see how many ratings they have given.
You won't know if they are good or bad ones though.
I haven't been on much today, but you can bet that before the day is out, I will have given many ratings.
I make a point to do that every day.

Some people, not all of us, couldn't care less about those ratings, some people just forget that the ratings are there! I forget once in awhile!

Lately? You should see some of the "older" blurters pages, we have hundreds of answers, some well over a year old that never received ratings. It's just a fact of life here. You can do as several of us do, check your friends pages for unrated answers. Don't give a thumb up, just to do it, rate fairly. Many are in such a hurry, they simply forget to rate. Some rate only occasionally, if at all. After all, it's not really about the ratings, it's about answering.

I usually try to answer questions that haven't been answered... If someone beats me to it and I like it I'll give it a thumbs up. I haven't gave any thumbs down yet and probably won't ever

Well thats just how some people do it,i hate it once i was the one getting all tumbes down, until it went away and sometimes it came back.i think the best you can do is leave a comment.

Definitely right..!! I think v all living in a fast-paced era and no one in this world have enough time to give thumps up or to review the answer they received.. They only need to get the answer.. Thats all..

Although It is nice to get a thumbs up as a thank you or a genuine well done I note lots of thumbs up on simple questions which have required no effort and they are not from the questioner who is a guest. I feel sorry for those who have put the effort into answering questions only to find someone who is thumbing up like mad has gone zooming ahead. This system is wide open to abuse as you can see time after time people being systematically thumbed up by friends/family. Some questions require a lot of thought and research. Likewise I feel marks for moderating are not required - it is something one would do voluntarily in a good community for the benefit of all users. I think people putting questions would prefer a more comprehensive answer to a one word answer.
As it stands you can get someone with little or no knowledge showing a high rank purely on thumbing. It makes ranks a farce. I feel I can say this as I am Rank 1 with no axe to grind. It has however made me wonder whether it is worthwhile continuing answering questions and for this reason I have recently held back from answering.

I agree whole heartaly,I have also shared the same views on what is so apparent when you spend alot of time to put forth the best response to a Blurtit question and to have someone come and give you a thumbs down without any comment to show just cause it rather takes the spirit of wanting to give that extra care in answering Blurtit questions. I would think as a whole the Blurtit community would be better served if we stand united towards the same goals and that is here to find the best answers.
Yes that is true. I dont get thumbs up or down alot. I answer as much questions as I can do. But I dont do them alot because I dont like seeing thumbs down. It will be nice to upgrade the thumbs down. Meaning if the person doesnt like your answer for real. You have to leave a comment why its not good. Also whoever just gives thumbs down because they have nothing better to do. You will now who those certain people are. Its good for the Blurt it community and its time for people to make a change.
I always try to rate answers on my questions. I only thumb down the ones that are spam. Some of my answers are funny remarks. I dont mind if they are thumbs up/down on them, but when you ask a silly question expect a silly answer. LoL. But I believe all answers should be rewarded with a thumbs up, correct or wrong.

Yes some people. But im sure some people want to know if their answer is correct or not. It helps you learn.
When I am answering the questions, I rate first and then answer the question, so it wasn't me that wasn't rating at that time. Lol
